Ambassador Wang Xuekun Holds A Press Briefing

On March 5, H.E. Mr. Wang Xuekun, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Wang held a press briefing for mainstream Rwanda media houses, in an effort to introduce the gist of the outcomes of the Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs and brief journalists on the updates of China-Rwanda bilateral relations, also China-related hotspot topics. Mr. Gao Zhiqiang, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy and Mr. Zhang Xiaohong, spokesperson of the embassy attended the event.

Ambassador Wang introduced the backdrop of the Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs, elaborated on the main content of the notion of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and explained China’s urge for an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization.

Regarding China-Rwanda bilateral relations, Ambassador Wang briefed the journalists on the recent progress of China-Rwanda cooperation in various fields, characterizing the bilateral relations from three perspectives of comprehensive, constructive and congenial. He also share the updates of the ongoing plenary sessions of National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and explained China’s position on Taiwan- and Hong Kong-related matters, refuting the false narratives by western countries.

Ambassador Wang also answered reporters’ questions on the situation of the Great Lakes region, cooperation among the Global South countries, etc.

Local media houses such as Rwanda Broadcasting Agency, New Times, Kigali Today, IGIHE and Africa-China Review participated in the event.
