On 19 April 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, H.E. Mr. Wang Xuekun attended the handover ceremony on the donation by the Chinese Government at KGM. Hon. KAREMERA Francis, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on National Unity, Human Rights and Fight against Genocide, and Mr. MUTANGUHA Freddy, CEO of Aegis Trust&KGM also attended this event.

Ambassador Wang said in his speech, that China’s support stems from similar history of both our countries. China is able to understand and empathy what Rwandan people have experienced. Both China and Rwanda were reborn from ashes and found their own paths to development. The two countries will implement consensus between their leaders to bring bilateral relations to a higher level.

Hon. KAREMERA and Mr. MUTANGUHA expressed their sincere gratitude to the government of China and Chinese people, lauding the in-kind donation as a demonstration of China’s strong support and solidarity to Rwanda and its people.

At the ceremony, Amb. WANG and Mr. MUTANGUHA signed the handover certificate of the donation.
