An Agreement of Cooperation Between the Chinese Embassy and the University of Rwanda Was Signed

On July 30th, 2019, Ms. XING Yuchun, Political Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, met with Professor Nelson M. IJUMBA, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Rwanda, both sides exchanged views in enhancing cooperation and exchanges and signed a cooperative agreement.


Prof. IJUMBA spoke highly of the achieved fruits in educational cooperation between the two countries as well as the support provided by China for Rwandan educational development. He introduced the history and development of the UR and expressed willingness in cooperation with the Chinese side in areas of smart education and teachers capacity building.


Ms. XING said, China-Rwanda cooperation in various fields including cooperation maintains positive momentum of development. The UR is Rwanda's time-honored, the biggest and the comprehensively strongest higher educational institution. The Embassy is willing to join hands with the UR, to tap the potential for cooperation, and to promote the bilateral educational exchanges and cooperation through training programs, equipment support as well as campus cultural exchanges activities.
